1) Introduction

Great Kids, Inc. (“GK,” “us,” “we,” or “our, as the context may require) is a non-profit organization partnering with programs to create a world where all parents and caregivers will feel confident and competent in their ability to protect children and their childhoods. We are committed to privacy and have adopted this Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) with that in mind. This Policy applies to and describes the types of information that we collect from (a) www.greatkidsinc.org, including any subdomain thereof, (b) websites utilized by us and hosted by third parties (e.g., our Partner Portal store located at (https://greatkidsportal.com/#/catalog) and (c) related electronic communications (collectively the “Site”). This Policy also describes how and for what purposes we may collect, maintain, protect, use, disclose, and process such information.

This Policy does not apply to information we collect offline. This Policy also does not apply to information collected by any third party, including any content that may link to or be accessible from the Site.

Please read this Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information. By accessing and using the Site, you consent to and accept this Policy. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy, you may not use the Site. This Policy may change from time to time (see Changes to this Policy). Your continued use of the Site following any changes to this Policy is deemed acceptance of those changes, so please check periodically for updates.

2) Information May We Collect About You

As you access, use, and interact with the Site and communicate with us, we may collect information about your visit, and you may provide us with certain information. We collect this information:

    • Directly from you when you provide it to us and
    • automatically as you navigate the Site. 

a) Information You Provide Us

As you access, use, and interact with the Site and communicate with us, you may provide us certain information, including information which can be used to identify you or be linked to you (“personal information”). We may collect any information, including personal information, that you provide to us through the Site or when communicating with us, including your name, phone number, email address, and postal address.

We may collect, or you may provide us with information, including personal information when you take the following actions:

  • Inquire about our services and offerings;
  • Place an order from our Site;
  • Schedule a calendar appointment with GKI staff;
  • Schedule a webinar or information session;
  • Subscribe to our newsletter, blog, or other site resources;
  • Sign up for email updates;
  • Create, save, or submit an employment application or related information on the Site; (please note that partially completed job application data is stored on the server for 30 days before being automatically deleted);
  • Conduct a search on the Site; or
  • Otherwise contact us or directly provide us information.

Payment Information

The Site accepts, but we do not directly collect, credit card or other payment information on the Site. If you make a purchase through the Site, your payment will be processed by our payment processor (Stripe). Purchases made on or through the Site, as well as any payment information provided in connection with purchases made on or through the Site, are also subject to the Stripe’s Privacy Policy. 

b) Information We Collect Automatically

As you navigate through and interact with the Site, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Details of your visits to the Site, including your approximate location and the pages that you viewed.
  • Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

The information we collect automatically is only statistical data and does not include personal information, but we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. It helps us to improve the Site and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Site according to your individual interests.
  • Speed up your searches.
  • Recognize you when you return to the Site.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

Pages of the Site [and our emails] may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or [opened an email] and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).

3) How We May Use Your Information

We may use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  • To present the Site and its contents to you.
  • To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.
  • To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it.
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection.
  • To notify you about changes to the Site or any products or services we offer or provide though it.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features on the Site.
  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information.
  • For any other purpose with your consent.

We may use the information that you provide to us in or related to an employment application, including any personal information contained therein, to review and evaluate candidates for employment (as permitted or required by applicable law).

4) Analytics

We utilize third parties and analytics to help us market, sell, and provide information about our products and services. We may provide information collected from you, including personal information to these third parties to assist us in conducting business with you.  We use web analytics tools provided by service providers, including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, which is a third-party service that transmits website traffic data to Google servers in the United States. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.  We use reports provided by Google Analytics to help us understand the Site’s traffic and web page usage. We use the information provided by these tools to improve our services and our online advertisements. These tools place session and persistent cookies in your browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit the Site. Each cookie cannot be used by anyone other than the service provider (e.g. Google Analytics).  

5) How We May Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose personal information except as described in this Policy or with your consent.  We may share your information among our affiliates.  We may, from time to time, transfer information to third parties who analyze such information on our behalf.  We also may share the information with third-party service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf to help with our business activities.  These service providers are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. 

We may also disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law, court order, or legal process; (ii) in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements; (iii) under the discovery process in litigation or arbitration; (iv) to enforce our policies, contracts or other rights; (v) to collect amounts owed to us; (vi) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation or prosecution of suspected or actual illegal activity; or (vii) if in good faith we believe that disclosure is otherwise necessary or advisable. In addition, from time to time, server logs may be reviewed by third-party forensic investigators and other technology professionals for security purposes – e.g., to detect unauthorized activity on the Site.  In such cases, server log data containing IP addresses may also be shared with law enforcement bodies in order that they may identify users in connection with their investigation of unauthorized activities.

6) Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. See the information below regarding mechanisms which provide you control(s) over your information: 

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. To learn how you can manage your Flash cookie settings, visit the Flash player settings page on Adobe’s website. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the Site may be inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Promotional Offers. If you do not wish for us to use your email address/contact information to promote our own or third parties products or services, you can opt out by sending us an email stating your request to techsupport@greatkidsinc.net.  If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions. [This opt-out does not apply to information provided to us as a result of a product purchase, product service experience, or other transactions.]

Nevada residents who wish to exercise their sale opt-out rights under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A may submit a request to this designated address: techsupport@greatkidsinc.net. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute’s opt-out requirements.

7) Transfer of Personal Information

GK is based in the United States and the Site is designed for users from the United States.  Any information collected through the Site or electronic communications as described in this Policy may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which we, our affiliates, or our service providers maintain facilities.  The United States is not recognized as having adequate safeguards.  If you are located outside of the United States, please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction, and you consent to the transfer of information to the United States.

8) Retention

We will retain the personal information we receive as described in this Policy for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, comply with applicable law, and in accordance with our routine information storage policies and practices.

9) Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. The Site has reasonable technical and organizational security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under our control. We periodically update and test our technology in order to improve the protection of information.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to the Site. Any transmission of information, including personal information, is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site.

10) Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to nor intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on the Site or provide any information about yourself to us. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information. 11) Governing Law

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, this Policy and our collection and use of personal information shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Georgia.  Unless prohibited by law, any disputes arising from this Policy shall be adjudicated in Muscogee County, Georgia, or a federal court of competent jurisdiction in the State of Georgia.

It is our Policy to post any changes we make to this Policy on this page. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting this page and reviewing this Policy to check for any changes.
